Covington, Ind Aug 18 - David Ferguson, 81 years old, well known politician and life-long resident of Fountain County died at his home here this morning at 9:30 o'clock of a heart attack, supinduced by a goiter.  Mr. Ferguson a staunch democrat served as auditor of Fountain County four years and was a democratic candidate for the nomination for state auditor. Born in the southern part of Fountain County April 25, 1847, Mr. Ferguson spent his entire life in this vicinity.  In 1876 he was married to Miss Sarah E. Shelby the ceremony taking place in this city. He was a son of Zachariah and Hannah Ferguson, Fountain County pioneers. He had spent the last 12 years of his life in th is city. He was a big land owner. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge. An adopted brother, Charles Meeker of Nebraska survives. The body will be buried in Mount Cemetery.
